Supplementary Material

Note that when the half-life of the protein is shorter than mRNA half-life, the protein decay by transcriptional shut-off experiments (red symbols curve) is governed by the mRNA decay (blue symbols) and gives an overestimate of protein half-life, bigger than the actual half-life of the protein determined by treatment of cells with protein synthesis inhibition(open symbols).
