Protective Effect of Theaflavin on Erythrocytes Subjected to In Vitro Oxidative Stress
Figure 2
Concentration-dependent effect of black tea theaflavins on tert-butyl hydroperoxide- (t-BHP-) induced changes in malondialdehyde (MDA) content in normal Wistar rat erythrocytes. The effect of theaflavins was evaluated on erythrocytes subjected to oxidative stress by incubation with t-BHP (10−5 mol/L). The MDA content is expressed as nmol/mL packed erythrocytes. **; *** as compared with t-BHP treated.
