<table>Role of PI 3-kinase/AKT in integrin-mediated drug resistance. Integrin/ECM interactions lead to the activation of PI 3-kinase/AKT which can regulate various downstream targets including proteins of the Bcl-2 family and of the IAP family, as well as cell cycle regulators. It also activates the transcription factor NF<i>κ</i>B, which is known to increase expression of several antiapoptotic proteins.</table>
