Coarse-Grained Simulation of Myosin-V Movement

Table 1

Parameter optimisation of the default model. For each change in the model, the mean lap-time was recorded (with its standard-deviation) along with the number of falls (when the myosin detached from the actin track). These partial circuits were not included in the number of runs used to calculate the mean lap-time. Experiments with the myosin hip-hinge were generally disruptive (see Section 3.1.2). Changing the capture zone for loose-binding and the range within which to align the actin/myosin orientation produced no significant improvement. The only change that was adopted as the new default was to remove an initial attraction between the actin and myosin.
