Computational Intelligence Techniques in Medicine
Description
Research and development in health sciences has undergone deep changes in the last years. Large amounts of clinical data have become available, and there is a need for automated methods which can extract the underlying knowledge. By this way, intelligent computer systems provide support to the health professionals in all the tasks related to healthcare, both in medical and management contexts. Among these systems, computational intelligence approaches have gained increasing popularity, given their ability to cope with uncertain information.
We invite authors to submit original research and review articles that explore the interplay between computational intelligence and health sciences. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Artificial neural networks
- Fuzzy systems
- Machine learning
- Classification and clustering
- Genetic algorithms and evolutionary computing
- Nature-inspired and swarm intelligence
- Computer aids to clinical decisions: Medical diagnosis, therapy selection, and relapse prediction: applications to Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia diagnosis breast cancer treatment, prevention, and relapse prediction
- Medical image processing: Applications to aneurysm and cancer detection
- Biological sequence analysis: Colorectal cancer mutation detection
- Design and search of genetic signatures for personalized medicine
- Healthcare management
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/cmmm/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/cmmm/cote/ according to the following timetable:
