Adenoid ameloblastoma with dentinoid had been perceived as a rare odontogenic tumor with bridging histopathological features between ameloblastoma and adenomatoid odontogenic tumor. Due to the mixture of histopathological features of two separate and well-recognized entities, adenoid ameloblastoma was also regarded as a hybrid lesion. The diversity in the histopathological presentation among the cases has disaccorded the nature, behaviour, and prognosis of this pathology. Despite the literature acknowledging the histopathological diversity, categorizing all these variations into one and addressing them as a single entity was lagging till the 5^th edition of the odontogenic tumor classification by the WHO was forwarded. With the establishment of the new terminology of adenoid ameloblastoma and the enlistment of its diagnostic criteria, the scientific literature has advocated updating, contributing, and redefining the various aspects of this pathology. Here, we present a case of a 34-year-old male who presented with a chief complaint of swelling in the lower front region of his jaw in the past one month. The swelling was associated with pain that was sudden in onset with a progressive increase in size. The swelling was also associated with discharge that resembled pus. A panoramic radiograph showed a mixed radiopaque and radiolucent area, extending from the distal aspect of 32 up to the distal aspect of 43. The entire cystic lining along with the growth was excised and sent for histopathological examination. Correlating clinically, the histopathological features are suggestive of adenoid ameloblastoma. Scientific literature has stood as a boon to evidence-based practice. The diagnosis for the present case report is truly an outcome of the literature-based update which helped the diagnosis of the case as a separate entity rather than as a hybrid pathology. The goal was to enhance the understanding of the lesions in terms of their clinical characteristics and diverse histopathological morphology.

Mucogingival surgery is a procedure for the treatment of gingival recession, which is a shift of marginal gingival tissue to the cementoenamel junction (CEJ), exposing the surface of the root teeth. One treatment for gingival recession is the Langer and Langer bilaminar technique, which involves the use of the fascia lata (FL) membrane. This membrane is harvested from the aponeurosis of the external muscles. The purpose of this case report was to present the clinical results of a 2-year follow-up using the Langer and Langer bilaminar technique modified with FL in a patient with gingival recession. Recessions are a shift of marginal gingival tissue to the CEJ, which exposes the surface of the root teeth. At the 2-year follow-up, the patient presented with a gingival recession in tooth 41, which resulted in complete root coverage, reaching 83.3%; the amount of keratinized tissue increased to 3 mm in each tooth, changing the gingival biotype from thin to thick and scalloped. This case report supports the use of FL as a successful alternative treatment.

A 26-year-old woman had a masticatory dysfunction, straight profile, retrognathic maxilla and mandible, and Angle’s class I with a tendency to class III malocclusion on both sides, with bilateral posterior crossbites and a 4 mm anterior open bite. Orthognathic surgery and orthodontic camouflage with and without tooth extraction were considered as treatment options. The patient’s preferred method of treatment was orthodontic camouflage without extraction. The transpalatal arch had been placed for the bilateral molars’ derotation. After 3 months, the upper segmented fixed appliance was implanted to address the posterior crossbites in the premolar’s region. One mini-implant was inserted into the anterior palatum after the transpalatal arch was removed, and a supporting device was attached to the first permanent molars to give indirect skeletal stability. Orthodontic treatment’s active phase lasted 23 months, and all treatment objectives were achieved during that time: the desired facial profile, adequate occlusion, appropriate overbite, and overjet.

Drug-influenced gingival enlargement is a common side effect associated with certain medications, particularly calcium channel blockers like nifedipine, which has been extensively documented. However, the occurrence of nifedipine-influenced masticatory mucosa overgrowth in edentulous patients is rare. Here, we present a case of nifedipine-influenced mucosal enlargement persisting in a 67-year-old edentulous patient 3 months after the extraction of all his teeth. The patient underwent flap surgery and alveoloplasty to excise the overgrown tissue, followed by complete denture restoration. The antihypertensive medication was replaced with valsartan. A 2-year follow-up revealed no recurrence of overgrowth, indicating the effectiveness of this management strategy for such clinical situation.

This case report details the esthetic rehabilitation of a 32-year-old male patient suffering from sleep bruxism, primarily manifesting as a fracture and significant loss of tooth structure in the anterior maxillary central incisors. To address these concerns, the patient underwent a restorative treatment involving the application of semidirect resin composite veneers on the maxillary incisors and direct resin composite restoration on the incisal regions of the maxillary canines. This approach not only restored the functional integrity of the teeth but also significantly enhanced the patient’s esthetic appearance.

White sponge nevus is a rare genetic autosomal dominant disorder characterized by irregular patches of thick, white diffuse plaques, which mainly affects the oral mucosa and, very rarely, the skin or mucosa of the nose, esophagus, and anogenital region. We present a case of oral white sponge nevus in a 62-year-old woman, the differential diagnosis of which was of particular interest due to other similar white oral lesions, some of which are potentially malignant. The lesions were verified histologically. However, no treatment was performed due to the benign and asymptomatic nature of the lesions.
