Relative MIF mRNA expression by −794 MIF (rs5844572) genotypes in normal-weight and obese subjects. (a) The slightly high MIF mRNA expression was observed in the 6,6 carriers, while the 5,5 carriers had lower expression in the total population. (b) The modest increase in MIF mRNA expression was observed in the 6,6 carriers in both groups, while the 7,7 carriers had lower expression in the obese group.
