Histological scoring for steatosis and inflammation from rats fed a standard diet for 12 weeks (control) or a high-fat diet alone (NASH), or supplemented with silibinin-phosphatidylcholine complex (Silibinin), at a dose of 200 mg kg−1 as silibinin, during the last 5 weeks. The P values for the Chi square test are given and differences are significant among all groups for both parameters. aMacrovesicular steatosis: grade 0 absent; grade 1 < 33%; grade 2: 33–66%; grade 3: >66%. bInflammation: 0 normal; 1 mild; 2 moderate; 3 severe. |
