Evaluation of In Vitro Uterotonic Activities of Fruit Extracts of Ficus asperifolia in Rats

Figure 3

Concentration-dependent effects of atropine (a), indomethacin (b), pyrilamine maleate (c) and hexamethonium (d) on the maximum contractile response of the isolated estrogenized uterus to the aqueous extract of F. asperifolia (1.6 mg/mL). Acetylcholine, oxytocin and histamine were used as standard agonists. Atropin, pyrilamine maleate and hexamethonium were administered 10 min before addition of plant extract or standard agonists. Indomethacin was introduced 20 min before addition of oxytocin or aqueous extract. Each bar represents mean of four experiments.   ;   ;   significant when compared to standard agonist.
