Neuroprotective Effects of San-Huang-Xie-Xin-Tang in the MPP+/MPTP Models of Parkinson’s Disease In Vitro and In Vivo
Figure 3
Effects of SHXTon ROS level (a), gp9 expression (b), GSH level (c), and SOD activity (d) in primary mesencephalic neurons treated with MPP+ for 48 h. Cultures were pretreated with SHXT (25–75 μg/mL) for 1 h before MPP+ treatment. ROS was determined by H2DCF-DA staining. Protein expression was detected by western blotting. GSH level and SOD activity were measured by commercial kits. Bars represent the mean ± S.E.M. from six independent experiments. Densitometry analyses are presented as the relative ratio of protein/β-actin protein and are represented as percentages of MPP+ group. #, ## versus control (without any treatment), *, ** versus MPP+ only.
