SHXT increased TH-positive neurons in the substantia nigra par compacta (SNpc) of MPTP-treated mice. C57BL/6 mice were treated with SHXT (10 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg, i.p.) for 7 days and then MPTP (20 mg/kg, 4 times, 2 h interval, i.p.) was injected on 8th day.
