Dose-dependent formation of the [Fe(ferrozine)3]2+ complex following release of Fe2+ from ferritin by CCME with time. The reductive release of ferritin iron was quantified by measuring the formation of the ferrous complex of ferrozine, [Fe(ferrozine)3]2+ at 562 nm using a Shimadzu UV-VIS spectrophotometer.
