Toxicity of DOX and cytoprotective effect of CM. (a) Dose-response curve of doxorubicin (DOX). H9c2 cells were treated with DOX (0-10-5 M) for 48 h and dose-response curve was obtained with IC50 of 1.45 × 10−7 M; (b) cytoprotection of pummelo in DOX-induced cytotoxicity. Cells were incubated for 48 h with DOX (0.1 μM) with or without preincubation with CM at concentrations 10, 100, and 1000 μg/mL. Cell viability was evaluated by crystal violet assay as described in material and Methods. versus vehicle treated cells (CTRL); versus DOX.
