Evaluation of Mucoadhesive Gels with Propolis (EPP-AF) in Preclinical Treatment of Candidiasis Vulvovaginal Infection
Figure 5
(a) Antimicrobial activity of PMM using C. albicans SC5314 (yeast, pseudohyphae, and hyphae) with 0.50% of propolis with 6 hours of treatments (30°C, 24 hs under agitation). The controls of the experiment were the strain in YPD medium and PBS. After the treatments, 5 μL and subsequently tenfold dilutions were applied in YPD complete medium with propolis, at 30°C, 24 hs; (b) graphic presentation of cellular viability of C. albicans treated during 12 and 24 hours with 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.0% of propolis (PMM) (); (c) microscopy of the strains used during protocol, yeasts, pseudohyphae, and hyphae.
