Effect of EEAO posttreatment on neutrophilic lung infiltration. Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) was performed to count infiltrates in the lungs of C57BL/6 mice. Mice were treated as in Figure 3. (a) From BAL fluid, total cell number was determined by using a hemocytometer. (b) The cells in BAL fluid were precipitated by a cytospin and differentially counted for neutrophils. Data represent the mean ± SEM of three independent countings. * was less than 0.01, and ** was less than 0.05, compared with LPS treated mice (post-ANOVA comparison with Tukey’s post hoc test).
