Effect of AC-mix on the activation of NF-κB and the expression of COX-2, iNOS, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-10 in DSS-induced acute colitic mice. DSS, except in the control group, was orally administered with the drinking water to mice treated with saline, AC mix or mesalazine, as indicated in Materials and Methods. Test compounds [AC-mix (AC, 10 and 20 mg/kg), mesalazine (M, 10 mg/kg), or saline] were orally administered for 15 days after DSS treatment. The mice were sacrificed at 20 h after the final administration of test agents. (a) Effect on the activation of NF-κB and the expression of COX-2, iNOS, and β-actin.
