HETM induces sustained diuresis and natriuresis after prolonged treatment in OVX rats. Different groups of rats were treated for 4 weeks with HETM (3, 30, and 300 mg/kg), furosemide (C+, 25 mg/kg), or vehicle (C−). On the first day of treatment (outset) and at weekly intervals for four weeks, the urine was collected for 8 hours and its volume (a) and sodium concentration (b) were measured.
