Determination of SME-induced apoptosis of aHSC. aHSCs were cultured with SME at 0 (A), 0.3 (B), 0.5 (C), and 1 (D) mg/mL for 72 h. Then, the cells were stained with DAPI and were observed under a fluorescence microscope. Three independent experiments (; i.e., using cell preparations from 3 rat livers) were carried out for any sets of experiments. The scale bar equals 50 μm.
