Effects of O. japonicus on LPS-induced cytokine mRNA levels in THP-1 cells. Cells were pretreated for 20 h with various concentrations of O. japonicus (10 or 25 μg/mL) before exposure to LPS (1 μg/mL) for 4 h, and mRNA levels were measured using real-time PCR. The crossing points of the IL-1β (a), IL-6 (b), IL-8 (c), and TNF-α (d) with β-actin were entered into the formula , and relative amounts were quantified. The data represent the means ± SD of three independent samples. compared with LPS stimulation alone.
