Berberine Protects Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells against LPS-Induced Apoptosis by Blocking JNK-Mediated Signaling

Effects of berberine on cell viability in the human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). The HUVECs were incubated with various concentrations of berberine for 24 h. The cells were then washed with fresh medium three times and cultured with lipopolysaccharide (LPS; 5 μg/mL) for another 24 h. After stimulation with LPS, cell viability was measured with the Cell Counting Kit- (CCK-) 8 method. The values represent the mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM; independent experiments). ; .
