Mechanisms of action of hydrogen sulphide on bonds between corneocytes. Sulphur can be transformed into pentathionic acid and/or produce H₂S, transforming cystine into cysteine (keratolytic effect). In some situations, hydrogen sulphide can convert cysteine into cystine (keratoplastic effect).
