Hangeshashinto Inhibits Porphyromonas gingivalis Pathogen-Associated Molecular Patterns-Mediated IL-6 and IL-8 Production through Toll-Like Receptors in CAL27 Cells

(a) Schematic representation of a reporter plasmid pIgκ-Luc containing three copies of an NF-κB binding site and the thymidine kinase promoter (tk pro) linked to the luciferase gene (luc). Plasmids of pIgκ-Luc and pRSV-β-gal were co-transfected into CAL27 cells. Twenty-four hours after transfection, the cells were cultured with hangeshashinto (b), resatorvid and C29 (c), and dexamethasone (d) for 24 hours. Then, the cells were stimulated with PAMP for 6 hours. The next procedures were performed as described in “materials and methods.” , versus stimulation with PAMP alone (one-way ANOVA with Tukey’s test).
