Special Invertebrate Models and Integrative Medical Applications: Regulations, Mechanisms, and Therapies

Call for Papers

The use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) together with conventional medicine is increasing worldwide, resulting in the tendency to employ strategies of integrative medicine. Recently, more and more attention has been paid to the studies relating to the beneficial role of invertebrates’ extracts or single components in in vitro and in vivo experiments. This tendency makes such extracts potential CAM in the treatment of human disease. Although this approach to using extracts shows potential in integrative medicine, the molecular signaling pathways associated with the beneficial effect of these extracts are urgently required.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles and review papers which are closely related to the regulatory role of extract in cell and animal models, in order to accelerate the use of this traditional medicine as CAM in integrative medicine. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cell or animal model for the study on extract (or single compound) treatments alone or integrated with conventional therapies.
  • Advanced molecular mechanisms associated with extracts (or its single compound) treatments alone or integrated with conventional therapies.
  • Clinical trials relating to extract (or its single compound) treatments alone or integrated with conventional therapies.

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ecam/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ecam/simima/ according to the following timetable:
