Integrative Therapies for Viral Hepatitis

Call for Papers

Viral hepatitis continues to be a global problem, especially hepatitis type B and type C. Chronic infection with hepatitis virus/viruses leads to cirrhosis, liver failure, and cancer. Treatment of viral hepatitis can be difficult. In recent years, integrative therapies, which uses multidisciplinary approach to patient care, gain popularity worldwide and have been used in a variety of diseases including viral hepatitis. Integrative medicine integrates or rejects approaches based on scientific evidence. Based on rigorous evidence, complementary and alternative methods will be integrated into conventional medicine for compelling scientific research.

We invite authors to contribute original research and review articles that will stimulate the exertion to explore the field of integrative medicine for hepatitis by basic research, clinical practice, and clinical research to improve efficacy of these therapies. In this special issue, we particularly take an interest in manuscripts that evaluate and discuss the rationale, methods, preliminary mechanism, clinical practice guideline, or expert consensus for integrative therapies in viral hepatitis. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Efficacy and safety of traditional herbal formulas in chronic hepatitis patients
  • Dietary chemopreventive strategies in liver cancer
  • Recent developments in integrative therapies in hepatitis
  • Ex vivo and in vivo studies related to the treatment of hepatitis by the integrative therapies
  • Complementary and alternative medicine for viral hepatitis A to Z
