Pathophysiological Insights into Environmental Health in Metabolic Syndrome
Call for Papers
Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a class of comorbidities including central obesity, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. MetS is rapidly growing in prevalence and is tightly correlated to environmental and life style factors. For example, air pollution and environmental toxins have been demonstrated to dampen insulin sensitivity, prompting to the onset and development of MetS. We invite investigators to contribute original research as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts towards understanding the pathophysiology behind environmental factors including, but not limited to, toxins, and life style factors, in the pathogenesis of MetS. We are particularly interested in articles describing current concepts in the management of MetS with a special focus on environmental factors. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Advances in environmental factors such as toxins in the development of MetS
- Latest technologies for clinical evaluation and measuring environment health outcomes
- Role of inflammation, apoptosis, and autophagy in environmental-factor-associated MetS
