A possible schema for IL-18/IL-1 processing by the inflammasome. After appropriate stimulation, the NLRP3 inflammasome is activated to induce active caspase-1, which eventually results in conversion of pro-IL-18/pro-IL-1 into biologically active IL-18/IL-1.
