Peripancreatic lymph node stations. According to the International Study Group on Pancreatic Surgery guidelines during distal pancreatectomy for cancer lymph nodes in stations 10, 11, and 18 have to be resected. Resection of lymph nodes in stations 8a and 9 is optional, but it is suggested to be included in the resection in case of cancer located in the body of the pancreas [6].
