CEACAM1, CEACAM3, CEACAM4, CEACAM19, CEACAM20, and CEACAM21 have transmembrane domains while CEACAM5 (CEA), CEACAM6, CEACAM7, and CEACAM8 have GPI-linked membrane-anchoring characteristics. CEACAM3, CEACAM4, CEACAM19, and CEACAM20 have immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM). However, only CEACAM1 has immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibition motif (ITIM). Brown circles represent ITAM. Blue circle shows ITIM. CEACAM group members have many glycosylation sites, which are indicated by the yellow arrows.
