Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Infection Biomarkers and TP53 Mutations in Hepatocellular Carcinomas from Colombia

Figure 1

TP53 249ser mutation in HCC cases from Colombia. (a) TP53 mutation at codon 249 was identified by restriction digestion. Presence of an undigested 158 bp fragment is indicative of mutation. Wild-type pattern: Lanes 2 (negative control: DNA from healthy donor lymphocytes), 4 to 8, 11, and 13 (HCC cases). Mutant pattern: Lanes 3 (positive control: DNA from PLC/PRF/5 cell line), 9, 10, and 12 (HCC cases). MW: molecular weight marker 100 bp. (b) Sequencing chromatograms of a mutant HCC case (a), showing the change from AGG to AGT and a wild-type HCC case (b).
