Results (mean of 10 animals assayed in triplicate ± SD) were obtained as described in Sections 2.9.1, 2.9.2, and 2.9.3. Total glutathione (GSH + GSSG) and GSH are expressed as 𝜇moles/mg protein. GR activity was expressed as U/mg·prot·min. 𝛼-Toc was calculated in nmoles/mg·protein. Results statistically significantly different (𝑃<0.01) are indicated with distinct superscript letters (values within the same column with different superscript letters are statistically significant between them).
