RF Energy Harvesting and Wireless Power Transmission: Technologies and Applications

Call for Papers

Recent progress in wireless power transmission and energy harvesting opened up new scenarios for the development of energy autonomous systems (i.e., electronic systems designed to work and be fully operational, without being connected to a power grid), thus representing a key technology for the so-called Internet of the Future. Nomadic, ubiquitous, pervasive, proactive, and smart entities will be distributed to represent intelligent distributed nodes, requiring energy to provide their services. Consequently, the (micro) generation, the conversion, or, more generally, the local availability of energy is a crucial point.

This special issue aims at collecting papers that address one of the numerous challenges related to wireless power transmission (WPT) and energy harvesting: improving the power transfer efficiency, the design of efficient conversion circuits, power management, advanced energy storage devices, and so forth. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Recent developments in rectenna systems
  • Recent developments in wireless resonant energy links
  • Wireless power transmission for medical and embedded devices
  • High efficiency conversion circuits
  • Power management systems
  • Advanced energy storage devices
  • Shrinking overall system dimensions

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijap/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijap/harv/ according to the following timetable:
