Effect of Berry Extracts and Bioactive Compounds on Fulvestrant (ICI 182,780) Sensitive and Resistant Cell Lines

Effect of berry extracts and polyphenols on proliferation of ICI-sensitive (LCC1, ZR75-1, BT-474) cell lines. Cell proliferation results from 6 d treatment of various cell lines with respective berry extract or polyphenol. Yellow (light) bars represent extract/polyphenol only and blue (dark) bars represent extract/polyphenol + 1 nM ICI. Each extract or polyphenol used for treatment was diluted 1000-fold from stock concentration. Vehicle treatment contained 0.01% EtOH and 0.1% DMSO. All treatments were normalized to the appropriate vehicle treatment. Data represented is mean standard error of three individual experiments performed in triplicate for each treatment. The means were tested for difference using a -test and a considered significant. The significantly different means compared to vehicle control (*) or ICI-only treatment (#) are indicated.
