Resurrecting Brinley Plots for a Novel Use: Meta-Analyses of Functional Brain Imaging Data in Older Adults

If young and older adults showed equivalent between-task change in the speed of responses across these studies, the slope of the fitted line would be 1 (dotted blue line); however, results indicated that some general cognitive slowing is evident within the datasets since the slope of the fitted line was 1.4 (solid green line).
