Dixon plots of inhibition of α-amylase according to the total phenol concentration of the aqueous fraction plant of (a) Cistus; (b) Equisetum arvense (the grains); (c) Matricaria pubescens; (d) Oudneya africana (the pods); (e) Salvia officinalis; (f) Thapsia garganica. Activity was determined by formation of maltose at several substrate concentrations ranging from 0.2 to 0.6 g/L.
