(a) Dissolved oxygen profile in 10% saliva after 10% sucrose addition increases anaerobicity to 50  m. F addition reduced biofilm activity so that dissolved oxygen increased to approximately 35% of air saturation. (b) Adding 10% sucrose decreased pH from 7.1 to 5.9 due to sucrose fermentation. F addition increased pH back to 6.8, suggesting inhibition of fermentation.
