All-Ceramic Restorations: Mechanics, Esthetics, Manufacturing, and Clinical Reliability

Call for Papers

The trend towards a progressively widened use of all-ceramic restorations is an undisputable reality in fixed prosthodontics. In the last decades, after the pioneering period, dental ceramics exhibited various favorable and promising mechanical and esthetic characteristics. To date, there is no unique ceramic material that equally satisfies all the best properties for clinical use. The choice of a specific kind of dental ceramic should be based on a detailed assessment of the very advantages and drawbacks of the material in relation to the specific dental applications, always referring to clinical data supported by scientific evidence and paying attention to the esthetic needs of the patients.

Researchers and clinical practitioners are encouraged to submit novel manuscripts in the above reported topic and submission will be part of this special issue. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Bonding to veneering ceramic, bonding of what to ceramic?
  • Cementation procedures
  • Aging and wear analyses
  • Long-term clinical performance

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijd/guidelines/.
