Differential Equations with Applications to Industry

Call for Papers

Differential equations play an important role in modelling a multitude of phenomena in the physical sciences, from space technology to microfluidics. They also frequently appear in social sciences, such as economics: the Black-Scholes equation is now perhaps one of the most widely known differential equations.

In this special issue, we wish to focus on the application of differential equations to industrial mathematics and so recognize the role that industrial mathematics has played in the development of new ideas and applications. Our only restriction on potential topics is then that the mathematical model should either come directly from or be inspired by the modelling of an industrial problem. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Fluid mechanics
  • Heat conduction problems
  • Symmetry analysis
  • Computational solutions
  • Weather and climate modeling
  • Biomedical applications
