Emergent Techniques and Applications for Big Visual Data
Description
With the exponentially growing number of deployed networked cameras, from fixed to mobile and even airborne, there has been strong demand on emergent techniques for better capturing, compressing, networking, computing, and visualization of these huge amounts of visual data. Moreover, there is also a broad range of new applications and services resulting from these emergent techniques.
The special issue is thus proposed for this journal, which is a peer-reviewed journal that aims to provide a high quality and timely forum for engineers, researchers, and educators whose interests are in digital multimedia broadcasting to learn recent developments and to share related challenges. Authors are invited to submit original papers to this special issue.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Sensing and capturing for big visual data
- Feature representation and compression of big visual data
- Networking and dissemination of big visual data
- Storage and retrieving of big visual data
- Security and privacy of big visual data
- Computing and analytics of big visual data
- Cloud processing and virtualization of big visual data
- New applications and services of big visual data
