Ubiquitous Sensing: Services and Applications

Call for Papers

Ubiquitous sensing has penetrated into all aspects of our everyday lives. For instance, modern smartphones are equipped with a variety of sensors that can be used to continuously monitor activities and locations of the users, and a growing number of sensors are embedded into the physical world for monitoring of our living environments. As it could facilitate new applications and services in a wide range of fields, ubiquitous sensing has gained tremendous research attention in recent years.

This special issue focuses on services and application brought by ubiquitous sensing. Original papers and review articles describing completed and unpublished work not currently under review by any other journal/magazine/conference are encouraged. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Human-oriented sensing
  • Sensing with smartphones
  • Sensing with RFID
  • Vehicular sensor networks
  • Remote sensing systems
  • Internet of Things
  • Platforms for ubiquitous sensing
  • Ubiquitous sensing services and applications
  • Energy-harvesting technologies
