Multimedia Sensor Networks

Call for Papers

Multimedia sensor networks (MSNs) are a new and emerging type of sensor network that contains sensor nodes equipped with cameras, microphones, and other sensors producing multimedia content. These networks have the potential to enable a large class of applications and have drawn wide attention of the research community.

The main focus of this special issue will be on the new and emerging techniques and applications of MSNs. This special issue will be an open international forum for the researchers to summarize the most recent development and research results. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Target tracking and recognition
  • Novel applications
  • Architecture and platform
  • Traffic management
  • Energy-efficient multimedia processing and communication
  • Collaborative in-network processing methods
  • Real-time multimedia communication protocols
  • Cross-layer design
  • Distributed storage
  • QoS guarantee

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijdsn/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijdsn/msns/ according to the following timetable:
