Taurine Alleviates the Progression of Diabetic Nephropathy in Type 2 Diabetic Rat Model

Changes of body weights, 24 hours urine albumin, and ACR in experimental rats on the basis of the duration of diabetes mellitus. (a) The body weights of OLETF and taurine-treated groups were decreased compared to LETO after 35 weeks of age. (b) Urine albumin levels were significantly lower at 35 weeks of age in the taurine-treated diabetic group compared to the diabetic control group.
