Includes previously diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes mellitus. Diagnosed is based on self-report. Undiagnosed is defined using the criterion of fasting glucose >125 mg/dL. Elevated blood pressure (systolic ≥140 mm Hg, or diastolic ≥90 mm Hg), or taking antihypertensive medications. Any of the following: total cholesterol ≥240 mg/dL, triglycerides >200 mg/dL, low-density lipoprotein ≥160 mg/dL, or high-density lipoprotein <40 mg/dL. Adapted from: [62]. |
