Ghrelin promoter activity by RelA (NF-κB (p65)) and NF-κB (p50). Schematic diagram representing deletion of the human ghrelin promoter introduced into the upstream of the firefly luciferase gene. Each construct (−2000-, −1800-, −1600-, −1400-, −1200-, −1000-, −800-, and −600-Ghrelin-Luc) was transiently cotransfected with pRL-CMV together with each transcription factor vector or an empty vector. Promoter activity was normalized to Renilla luciferase activity. The data represent the mean ± SE for triplicate samples. Asterisks indicate the differences between each group ().
