Application of Technology in Endocrine Disease
Description
We live in a period of rapid changes, and many new technologies appear and are diffused through medical meetings, the Internet, specialized press, lay press, and media. While these innovations bring a substantial improvement to the quality of care sometimes, due to commercial pressure, enter the market without adequate evidence of benefit and without an analysis of the cost: benefit ratio. To the contrary, many other technologies are underestimated due to insufficient commercial pressure.
The present issue of the International Journal of Endocrinology will be an independent forum of discussions and evaluations of what is new in this crowded and often unclear field of medicine. We invite authors to submit original research and review articles on the new technologies, new models or an evaluation of the existing technologies. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- New tools and software for the “closure of the loop” in type 1 diabetes
- New technologies for the diagnosis of thyroid nodules (e.g., the role of 3D ultrasound)
- New technologies for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy (e.g., stimulation for GI paresis)
- New diagnostic, noninvasive techniques for neuroendocrine tumors
- Evaluation of the nanotechnologies
- Evaluation of the technology for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers
- New technologies for the treatment of obesity
- Diagnosis and treatment of OSAS and impact on metabolic disorders
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ije/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ije/techn/ according to the following timetable:
