Behavioural Studies of Harpalus rufipes De Geer: an Important Weed Seed Predator in Northeastern US Agroecosystems

H. rufipes tracks from representative choice-feeding assay (a); note, this demonstrates movement but not residence time with a particular zone. Photo shows 48 by 30 arena and the four zones within the arena in which various seeds were placed. As evident in this image, H. rufipes spent considerable tracked time in the arena perimeter, outside the defined, seed-containing and control zones in the central area of the arena.
