Number of snags recruited by snag species in northern Arizona mixed-conifer and ponderosa pine forest from 1997 to 2002 and from 2002 to 2007. Species acronyms: ABCO: white fir, PIPO: ponderosa pine, POTR: quaking aspen, PSME: Douglas-fir, QUGA: Gambel oak, and OTHER: all other species. Recruitment occurred in all species and increased for most species between 2002 and 2007 but was especially pronounced for white fir in mixed-conifer forest.
