Each ring and stack bar plot represents a genome, and the colours represent the housekeeping genes. The length of each colour shows the allelic number or number of alleles in that locus or gene position. The numbers could also be considered as identities. Bars with the same patterns of colours are considered as having the same identity numbers and are therefore related.
