Geophysical Surveys at Khirbat Faynan, an Ancient Mound Site in Southern Jordan

EMI data acquired at Khirbat Faynan. While numerous ancient walls can be seen on the surface of this site with Google Earth, the geophysics survey aimed at identifying subsurface features suitable for excavation. Blue color ellipses show interesting areas of low conductivity. Brown color ellipses indicate areas of high conductivity that might be related to past human activity. The site measures approximately 270 × 640 meters.
