On the Validity of the “Thin” and “Thick” Double-Layer Assumptions When Calculating Streaming Currents in Porous Media

Curves correspond to surface charge values of 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 mC·m−2. The thick double-layer assumption is taken to be valid when the dimensionless streaming current Id deviates from 0 by less than 1%; the thin double-layer assumption is taken to be valid when Id deviates from 1 by less than 1%.
