Current Therapies and Technologies for Liver Disease and Regeneration

Call for Papers

Liver disease is one of the leading causes of death. Liver regeneration is severely limited in patients with inherited or acquired liver disease. Orthotopic liver transplantation is the only known treatment for patients with end-stage liver failure, but this therapy is limited by the shortage of donor organs. Many alternative treatments have been attempted to treat liver disease and failure.

We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate new therapeutic strategies and regeneration technologies for the treatment of liver disease. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Advances in liver transplantation
  • Recent therapies in liver disease
  • Glucose metabolism in chronic liver disease and its association with diabetes
  • Advances in bioartificial liver devices
  • Stem cell-based therapies
  • Advances in tissue and organ engineering techniques
  • Immunomodulation therapies
  • Liver tissue models for drug discovery

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijhep/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijhep/tech/ according to the following timetable:
